Bio-Organic Catalyst, Inc., (www.bio-organic.com)
a subsidiary of International Daleco Corporation (Trading Symbol: ILDO), is pleased to announce it has received a contract from the Village
of Ridgewood, New Jersey for supplying its bio-organic catalyst
compositions (BOCs) for use in optimizing renewable energy production
in anaerobic digestion, and reducing the energy consumption required
in the aeration of wastewater treatment.
-
- This supply contract builds on the year-long technical study
performed by Bio-Organic Catalyst, Inc. with the Village of Ridgewood, titled
“Anaerobic Digestion
- Optimization”, which was presented at the 2009 Annual New York
Wastewater
- Environment Association (NYWEA) conference on February 2nd,
2009.
-
- On April 15th, 2009 The Ridgewood Village Council was informed by
the Village
- Engineer that, based upon an extensive economic analysis of the
various cost
- reductions and off-sets to power purchases, they projected an
annual savings on
- natural gas purchases alone of $57,000. Aeration energy savings
and reduction
- in biosolids provides an additional savings of over $80,000 per
year.
-
- This supply contract and the year-long scientific study
establishes a new
- optimization model in municipal wastewater operations for energy
savings and
- renewable energy production. Municipal wastewater treatment
operations
- represent one of the largest consumers of energy within most
municipalities in
- the United States, and globally is a major focus of governmental
initiatives to
- shift dependence on carbon based energy sources to renewable
energy.
